As of December 2024, Sh. Uttam Singh, a 2015-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, serves as the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Karnal, Haryana. He assumed this position in March 2024, succeeding Anish Yadav. Tribune India

In his role as Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Singh is responsible for overseeing the district’s administration, implementing government policies, and ensuring the effective delivery of public services. Upon taking charge, he emphasized his commitment to addressing public concerns, ensuring that government schemes benefit all citizens, and resolving local grievances promptly. In addition to developmental activities, Sh. Singh has been proactive in responding to environmental challenges. In November 2024, amid rising pollution levels, the Haryana government authorized Deputy Commissioners to temporarily suspend physical classes up to Class 5 to safeguard children’s health. Sh.
