The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mahendragarh, as the chief administrative officer of the district, has multifaceted roles and responsibilities that encompass a variety of administrative, developmental, and regulatory functions. Here are the key roles of the Deputy Commissioner:


1. District Administration

The Deputy Commissioner acts as the head of the district administration. The DC ensures the implementation of government policies, oversees the functioning of government offices in the district, and coordinates between various departments to ensure smooth operations.


2. Revenue Administration

  • Supervises revenue collection and land records management in the district.
  • Acts as the District Collector, responsible for ensuring timely collection of land revenue, excise duties, and other government dues.
  • Oversees matters related to land acquisition, land disputes, and mutation of records.

3. Law and Order Maintenance

  • Works in collaboration with the Superintendent of Police (SP) to maintain law and order in the district.
  • Takes preventive measures to control any communal, social, or political unrest.
  • Supervises disaster management efforts and ensures readiness to handle emergencies.

4. Developmental Functions

  • Acts as the head of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA).

  • Holds quasi-judicial authority in cases related to revenue disputes, land matters, and certain other administrative issues.
  • Serves as the appellate authority in various disputes under district jurisdiction.

10. Representation of the Government

  • Represents the state government in district-level events, meetings, and functions.
