Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati was born on June 15, 1953, in Thimmasamudram, Andhra Pradesh. He pursued his early education in local government schools and displayed a strong interest in academics from a young age. He completed his Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Andhra University and later earned a Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Committed to improving education, Dr. Kambhampati led several grassroots campaigns focused on literacy and student welfare during his early years in public life. He worked with local schools to promote digital education and regularly organized free coaching camps for underprivileged students. His involvement in education reform laid the foundation for his future in politics and public service
Political Journey
Dr. Kambhampati began his political journey through the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the early 1990s. He served as the BJP State General Secretary in Andhra Pradesh from 1993 to 2003 and played a key role in expanding the party’s reach in the region. His leadership and organizational skills earned him the post of State President of the Andhra Pradesh BJP in 2014.
In 2014, he contested the Lok Sabha elections and won from the Visakhapatnam constituency, serving as a Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha. As an MP, he focused on infrastructure, port development, and digital services in his constituency.
