Nalbari

Nalbari district is located in the western part of Assam, India. It is part of the Kamrup region and is known for its rich cultural heritage, agriculture, and scenic beauty. The district is bounded by the districts of Kamrup, Barpeta, Baksa, and the state of Meghalaya to the south.

The district covers an area of about 1052 square kilometers and has a population of over 8 lakh people, as per the latest census. Nalbari is primarily an agricultural hub, with rice, mustard, jute, and tea being the major crops grown. The fertile soil and favorable climate make it ideal for farming, and small-scale industries, such as handloom weaving and handicrafts, also contribute to the local economy.
