Chief Minister of Haryana
On March 12, 2024, Nayab Singh Saini, who was serving as the president of the BJP’s Haryana unit, was appointed as the new Chief Minister of Haryana after the resignation of incumbent Manohar Lal Khattar, ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Following Khattar’s resignation, Saini was elected Leader of the BJP’s Legislative Party and took the oath as Chief Minister.
In the October 2024 Haryana Assembly elections, Saini won from the Ladwa constituency in Kurukshetra district and assumed office for a second term as Chief Minister on October 17, 2024. Political analysts believe that Saini’s appointment as Chief Minister in March 2024 played a significant role in helping the BJP secure victory in the 2024 elections. His leadership helped the party consolidate support from the OBC community and attract votes from Scheduled Castes (SC), with the introduction of new development schemes contributing to his success.
