Tilyar Lake is a prominent tourist destination in Haryana, India, located about 70 km (43 miles) from New Delhi along the Delhi-Fazilka highway, near the city of Rohtak. The lake is situated just 42 km (26 miles) from the Delhi border.
The well-maintained Tilyar Zoo in Rohtak, located near the lake, is especially popular with families. Fishing is allowed at Tilyar Lake for a fee of INR 200.
Covering an area of 132 acres (0.53 km²), the lake is a key part of the local tourist landscape and one of the greenest areas in the region. The expansive lawns and scenic views make it a relaxing spot, drawing visitors from as far away as Mumbai. It is also a great place for birdwatching, particularly at the small island in the middle of the lake. Entry to Tilyar Lake is free, and the complex also includes the Rohtak Zoo.
