Yogi Adityanath (born June 5, 1972) is an Indian politician and monk currently serving as the 22nd and incumbent Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, a position he has held since March 19, 2017. A prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), he is the longest-serving Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh from the party. Before entering politics, he was the head priest (Mahant) of the Gorakhnath Math in Gorakhpur. Adityanath has been elected as a Member of Parliament from the Gorakhpur constituency for five consecutive terms since 1998. Known for his strong leadership and emphasis on law and order, infrastructure development, and religious harmony, he has played a major role in shaping the political and administrative landscape of Uttar Pradesh.

Anandiben Patel (born November 21, 1941) is an Indian politician and educator currently serving as the 32nd Governor of Uttar Pradesh, a position she has held since July 29, 2019. Formerly a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the first woman Chief Minister of Gujarat, she has a background in education and social service. As Governor, she has emphasised higher-education reform, women’s empowerment and transparent university appointments in the state
