Honourable Chief Minister Mamata banerjee
Mamata Banerjee (born January 5, 1955) is an Indian politician currently serving as the 9th Chief Minister of West Bengal, a position she has held since May 20, 2011. She is the first woman to hold this office in the state. A prominent leader and founder of the All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), she played a crucial role in ending the 34-year rule of the Left Front in West Bengal. Banerjee has been elected multiple times as a Member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly and has also served as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. Her political career began in the Indian National Congress, and she served as the Union Railway Minister, among other portfolios, before founding the AITC in 1998. Known for her grassroots connection and strong stance on social welfare, Mamata Banerjee has led several initiatives focused on education, health, and rural development. Born into a lower-middle-class family in Kolkata, she holds degrees in History, Education, and Law. Over the years, she has become one of India’s most influential regional leaders, often recognized for her simplicity, determination, and fierce political presence on both state and national platforms.
Honorable Governor Dr. Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose
Dr. C. V. Ananda Bose (born January 2, 1951) is an Indian bureaucrat and author currently serving as the 22nd Governor of West Bengal, a position he has held since November 23, 2022. Appointed by the President of India, he represents the constitutional head of the state and acts as a vital link between the state government and the central government. A retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1977 Kerala cadre, Dr. Bose has held various prominent positions in the government, including secretary to the Government of India, head of several public sector undertakings, and advisor to the Government of Meghalaya. He is known for his contributions to housing, education, and science and technology. A Ph.D. holder in Habitat Management, Dr. Bose has represented India at various international forums and has also authored over 40 books in English, Malayalam, and Hindi.
